Overnight camping experience takes place Aug. 11-12
Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District invites the community to a night under the stars at its family campout, 5 p.m. – 9 a.m. August 11-12 at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Old Grand Avenue, Bensenville.
“You supply the tent, sleeping gear, lawn chairs and personal items, and we’ll supply the fun activities under the stars at our historic working farm,” says Fischer Farm Facility Manager Christine Shiel, noting that electricity is not available for tents but is available at other locations on the grounds. “For those without a tent, a limited number of four-person tents are available to rent for $15 each.”
Campers will take part in lawn games, fun crafts and stories around the campfire while dining on fire-roasted hot dogs and s’mores. It is recommended campers bring a battery-powered flashlight or lantern as well as bug spray.
Enjoy one last night under the stars before the school year begins! Register in advance at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood Street, Bensenville. The fee is just $12 per person, and children under 3 years of age are free. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
