Participants shall:
- Show respect to all participants and staff
- Refrain from using foul language
- Refrain from causing bodily harm to participants and staff
- Show respect for equipment, supplies and facilities
A positive approach will be used regarding discipline. The Bensenville Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant from the Water Park & Splash Pad for violation of behavior guidelines. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit.
Swimwear Policy
In effort to maintain a clean aquatic facility, only proper swim attire manufactured specifically for swimming may be worn in the Bensenville Water Park and Splash Pad.
Here are a few reasons why it’s important to wear pool attire in the pool:
- Some types of clothing may represent a drowning hazard. Because wet clothing is heavier or the effect of water resistance caused by clothing wideness, some clothing can interfere with swimming skills and increase drowning risk for the bather as well as other bathers.
- Street clothes (especially cotton) can transport airborne and ultimately water borne contaminants into the pool.
- Cotton and similar materials absorb the chemicals in the water causing the water to become less effective at maintaining the proper chemical balance.
- Lycra and Nylon are the best non-absorbent materials for swimming and are the best fabrics for proper swim attire.
- Thongs, Brazilian/French Cut Swimwear: The Water Park & Splash Pad is a family-friendly facility–a comfortable place for children to have fun where ALL patrons dress and act appropriately. Revealing swimwear is not appropriate in this setting.
Management reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of guest swimwear. Refunds will not be issued for improper swimwear.

Swim Lessons
The 2024 swim lesson schedule can be viewed in the 2024 Summer Program Guide.
Tide Pool Water Explorers | Ages 6 mo.-2
Children and parents are introduced to the pool through a gently-structured water play. This program gives children a chance to explore the water through songs, splashing, and fun. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. This is not a water safety class or swim instruction, but a chance for children to become more acclimated to the water. Children must wear a swim diaper under their bathing suit if they aren’t toilet trained.
Jellyfish + Parent | Ages 2-4
Children and parents who are ready for the next step can enjoy the same experiences they know and love from our water exploration classes, this time with kickboards, noodles, and water toys to encourage swimmers to use their imaginations as they learn basic swimming skills. Swimmers gain confidence in front and back floats, submerging their face to blow bubbles, arm movements, and water kicks while bonding with their parents. Children must wear a swim diaper under their bathing suit if they aren’t toilet trained.
Jellyfish | Ages 2-5
This class is a continuation of our Parent and Preschool level and is designed for children who are adjusted to the water without a parent. Instructors will work on further developing a foundation of beginning strokes, kicks, and breathing so participants can progress into the beginner level.
Bensenville Swim School | Ages 5-14
The Bensenville Swim School is the evolution of typical multi-level swim programs. Instead of your typical 6-7 level swim school format, we have evolved ours so that swimmers can build upon specific skills, which allows them better develop their talents and abilities in just four levels. In the Bensenville Swim School our students are not expected to move up a level each session, but instead stay in one level and develop good stroke mechanics and endurance before moving up. On the first day, participants will be re-evaluated to ensure proper level placement. All levels are taught at a 1:6 instructor to student ratio. Once placed in a group, children will learn and develop skills with similar swimmers at their level. This will allow us to continue to develop the swimmers and not be confined by only the skills of one level.
Private Lessons | Ages 3+
Private lessons provide the one-on-one attention needed to improve swimming ability! These lessons are adapted to the specific skills you want to develop. They are great for new swimmers who are uncomfortable in the water or for advanced swimmers wanting to perfect their skills! All lessons are sold in a pack of six 30-minute lessons. After registering, a swim instructor suited to help you achieve your goals will be in contact to set up the first lesson.
Semi-Private Lessons | Ages 3+
Semi-private lessons are designed for two-to-three people and give you the ability to create your own group lesson with the peers of your choice. Just like private lessons, semi-private lessons are adapted to the specific skills you want to improve on. They are great for siblings or friends with similar abilities. All lessons are sold in a pack of six 30-minute lessons. After registering, a swim instructor suited to help you achieve your goals will be in contact to set up the first lesson. Lessons begin after June 6. Participant is responsible for securing group members.
