Campout date moved to Friday-Saturday, September 16-17
Bensenville, Ill.— The Bensenville Park District invites residents to a night under the stars at its Family Campout, 5 p.m. – 9 a.m. September 16-17 at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Grand Avenue, Bensenville.
“You supply the tent, sleeping gear, lawn chairs and personal items, and we’ll supply the fun activities. And, even if you don’t have a tent, a limited number of four-person tents are available to rent for $15 per tent,” says Superintendent of Recreation Mike Hayes, noting that electricity is not available for tents but is available at other locations on the grounds.
Campers will take part in lawn games, fun crafts and stories around the campfire while dining on fire-roasted hot dogs and s’mores. It is recommended campers bring a battery-powered flashlight or lantern as well as bug spray.
Register in advance at the Deer Grove Leisure Center, 1000 W. Wood Street, Bensenville. The fee is just $10 per person, and children under 3 years of age are free. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
