Fischer Farm offers homecoming photography special

Save $25! Photography permit fees just $10 on Saturday, Sept. 28

Bensenville, Ill. (September 2, 2024)—With Fenton and York High School homecoming dances just a few weeks away, Fischer Farm, 16W680 Old Grand Ave. in Bensenville, is offering a special for homecoming photography on its historic grounds. Homecoming couples, groups and families may take their pre-dance photos at the farm, and the permit fee has been reduced to just $10 per photographer, allowing couples to have their photos taken in a unique setting on the grounds.

“Fischer Farm is a beautiful and unique place for photography and is one of the oldest homesteads in DuPage County,” says Fischer Farm Manager Christine Shiel. “The grounds, barns and historic farmhouse provide the perfect backdrop for photos that will provide many years of memories. We are thrilled to offer this special to the local community.”

Photography permit fees have been reduced from $35 to just $10 per photographer on September 28 only, and families and professional photographers alike are invited to contact Shiel in advance (cshiel@bvilleparks.org) for a homecoming farm photography permit.

The Fischer family established their home around the year 1836. Through the years, they built barns and then a large farm house in 1919. The land just north of the cabin has been left untouched and is valued for its original seedbeds. Today, the property is used to pursue a mission of agricultural education, historical exploration and environmental conservation.

Since the Bensenville Park District’s acquisition of the property in 2022, use of the venue as a rental destination has grown. The site has been used for chamber of commerce meetings, birthday parties, weddings, family reunions and more. Rental fees for the Granary Barn are $225 for a four-hour event, $175 for those living in district. Additional hours are $45 and $35 for in-district residents.
