Residents can try yoga, circuit training or Zumba® at one of three different parks
Bensenville, Ill.—Want to try a group fitness class for free? The Bensenville Park District is providing three separate free yoga, Zumba® and circuit training classes during its Fitness Dayz, 9-10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Fischer Farm, Pines Park and Varble Park, respectively.
“We wanted to give residents an opportunity to try different fitness classes for free to see if they like them,” explains Fitness Supervisor Silvia Acevedo. “We invite those interested to meet us at the park! The Saturday morning events at the different parks let those interested in trying a class do so in their neighborhood parks before the heat of the day.”
Enjoy Vinyasa yoga with Jenny at Fischer Farm surrounded by a wooded forest preserve. Mats will be provided, but participants are free to bring their own. Participants are also encouraged to bring water. This class welcomes all levels of yoga experience, whether trying yoga for the first time or an experienced yoga student. Practicing yoga at one’s own level surrounded by nature will sure start the weekend in the right mindset.
Zumba® with Silvia at Pines Park welcomes all fitness levels, from beginners to experienced Zumba lovers, with modifications available. Everyone is going to have a great workout and a great time dancing at their own level of intensity and impact. For safety, class will be held in the park’s parking lot, so please wear appropriate workout shoes (ie. no crocs, flip-flops or sandals) and bring water.
Circuit training with Traci at Varble Park previews the new SH1FT-L1FT class scheduled this fall. Be prepared to do circuits of strength, mobility, balance, core, speed and agility as well as resistance training for a full body workout. The program is inclusive to all fitness levels, allowing participants to work out at their own pace. Modifications can be made for every circuit. Participants can burn calories long after their workout due to the excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) effect. All necessary fitness equipment will be provided; just bring water.
